CAREER CHANGE TO SALES

GOAL: To enable participants to gain a clear understanding of the sales profession, their potential to succeed in sales and their motivation to pursue that career path.

OBJECTIVES: Participants will:

• Assess their personalities and motivation
• Demonstrate their presentation skills
• Understand their ability to quickly learn new products & services
• Make actual telephone "cold calls" from the training site
• Understand sales models, sales environments, from A-Z
• Analyze marketing, sales and compensation plans
• Explore ethical issues that can arise in sales
• Identify "transferrable skills" & develop a plan to make a switch to sales
• Practice interviewing to "sell" those transferrable skills

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Anyone dissatisfied with their current position or income, unemployed or facing layoff, retired, looking for a first career, who wants to assess their ability to make a successful transition to sales.

FACILITATOR: Tom Martin has 30 years of successful corporate sales/sales management experience. He has sold "big ticket" high tech products and services to the largest companies in the U.S. –IBM, AT&T, American Express, Pfizer, Intel, Cigna, Citicorp, Chase, etc. He has served on the faculty of SUNY Brockport and Atlantic Cape Community College and holds two graduate degrees from Rutgers University. Tom has extensive experience developing and delivering professional training programs and is a member of American Society for Training & Development. His articles have appeared in many publications.

NOTE: This is a demanding, intensive, interactive workshop probably unlike any you have experienced. If you like to sit back, listen and take notes, this is not the program for you. Please come well rested and highly motivated. You have the option to stay late--5-6:00 PM--to extend the Q&A session and practice interviewing techniques with the facilitator. Plan to attend the networking breakfast at 8:00 AM sharp—and plan to have a lot of fun! Refund Policy: Refunds prior to the program only if request made in writing one week or more before program date.
